Hunting and fishing with the Duke: Urbania Court and Renaissance art excellence

November 1 - During the tour of Urbania, as we admire all of its beauties, we propose an unusual visit to Barco Ducale of Urbino.
Duke Federico’s park was dedicated to migratory fauna hunt and connected to the Ducal Palace by a mile of river, which knights and ladies navigated with a boat.
Piero Della Francesca will tell us about the Triumphs.

Hunting and fishing with the Duke: Urbania Court and Renaissance art excellence

Near Urbino court, in the town once called Casteldurante (now Urbania), Duke Federico da Montefeltro ordered the construction of a hunting park. It combined solace for the soul with entertainment for the body.

The site is connected to the Ducal Palace by a mile of river, which knights and ladies navigated with a boat. Just like the three little boats painted by Piero Della Francesca in the Triumphs of the Duke and Duchess of Urbino.

We will also admire together the background landscape of the most famous painting by Piero Della Francesca (in Pieve del Colle). During the tour we will be welcomed by Master Piero Della Francesca narrating his journey from Sansepolcro to Urbino.

Walk through the beauties of Urbania’s old town center.
